AFTER SCHOOL DROP IN Mondays-Fridays 3:00pm-6:00pm Ages: 6-17yrs
The Boys and Girls Club of Leduc has been providing a safe place to kids to go after school in Leduc since 1988. The After School Drop In Program is the foundation of our Club. We provide experienced, dedicated and passionate staff that ensure each child and youth are valued and safe while at the Boys and Girls Club of Leduc. The children and youth that attend daily can and do recieve homework assistance, get involved in healthy activities, play games, participate in positive conversation, interact with positive role models and are mentored by young people who know how and want to make a difference in our community. There is a ZERO (0) tolerance for Bullying type behaviour. One RULE the only rule here at this Club... RESPECT applies to ALL.
M.A.K members come together as a group to do lots of different activities like crafts, games, movies, and just plain fun. The idea is to get the participants used to committing to a specific group on a specific day and time. Call it a building block to taking responsibility or "leadership". Once a month the M.A.K kids get together with a group of seniors in our community and spend an afternoon creating and finishing a variety of projects such as sewing, knitting, building and painting small houses or jewerly boxes, friendship braclets, puppets and teddy bears, story telling and reading time. The kids and the seniors build positive healthy relationships in the safe caring environment of the Boys and Girls Club of Leduc.
